Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive and Transfer to Hotel
Meet at Maun International Airport to begin the safari, we will transfer to River
Lodge for the first evening.
Overnight: Thamalakane River Lodge
Meal Plan: Bed and Breakfast
Day 2: Helicopter Flight and Khwai Community Concession
You will begin the morning with a Helicopter Flight photographic flight over the
Okavango Delta on a Helicopter without doors for ease of shooting. The helicopters
will then drop you off at the Khwai Airstrip where you will be met by African Big Five
Safaris and myself and transfer to the mobile camp. The afternoon we will begin the
safari in Ernest with our first afternoon game drive followed by a short night drive
back to camp.

Day 3 : Morning Game Drive and Afternoon Game Drives Khwai
Concession.
We will be up early to begin our morning safari before the sun rises to maximize
the available light. We will spend the day exploring the concessions photographic
opportunities with morning and afternoon game drive broken up lunch and followed
by a fireside dinner.
Overnight: African Big Five Mobile Camp

Day 4: Morning Drive followed by the drive out into Savuti
An early morning drive where we will look to exploit the best morning light
before beginning to make our way in Chobe National Park enroute to Savuti. We
will spend the day driving to Savuti and enjoy lunch on the way. We plan to be in
camp early afternoon and follow that with an afternoon game drive in the famous
Savuti region.

Day 5 : Morning Game Drive and Afternoon Game Drives in Savuti
With a great deal of predator abundance we will spend the day with the familiar
plan of morning and afternoon drives in the very productive and photographic
Savuti region, Once again African big five’s hospitality will take care of all of our
meal and drinks throughout the day and we will finish the day with a foreside
dinner.

Day 6: Morning Drive followed by the drive out toward Kasane and the
Chobe River
An early morning drive where we will look to exploit the best morning light
before beginning to make our way through Chobe National Park towards Kasane.
On arrival in Kasane we will check into the Pangolin Hotel before heading out on
the boat for the evening photographic boat safaris on the Chobe river.
Overnight: Pangolin Lodge, Kasane

Day 7,8 & 9: Pangolin Chobe River
For the next three night we will enjoy the luxury of the innovative and award
winning Pangolin Lodge. Mornings and afternoons
will be made up of boat safaris on Pangolins custom photographic boats. The
Chobe river is truly one of the most photographically productive areas in Africa and
in October we expect to see a great deal of activity as mid-October is generally the
driest part of the year. Morning are focused on bird photography while the
afternoon focus on the mammal species.

Day 10: Morning Boat Safari followed by the road trip to Nxai Pans
After our last morning safari at Pangolin we will make our way on the 5 hour
drive to Nxai Pans with African Big Five Safaris. Along the way we will have a
stopover in Gweta. Once again African Big Five Safaris will be taking care of our
hospitality needs and will have the camp set up for our arrival in Nxai Pans. We will
enjoy our first afternoon and the Nxai Waterhole enjoying the action.

Day 11,12 & 13: Nxai Pans National Park
With October being the driest month of the year the only permanent waterhole in
the area is a hive of activity with tons of photographic opportunities. We will focus
most of our attention on the waterhole which is often a great place to photograph
Lions, Elephants, Cheetah and tons of plains game that flock here in the dry season.

Day 14: Over Night enroute to Mashatu
After enjoying our last morning of fantastic light at Nxai Pans National Park we
will begin our long journey down south. We will be overnighting near more than half
way to Mashatu on our way down south.

Day 15: Transfer Mashatu Game Reserve
After Breakfast, we will make our way to our final destination, Mashatu Game
Reserve close to the border with South Africa. We plan to arrive in Mashatu to check
in around lunch time and after enjoying lunch we will head out for or first activity..
Overnight: Mashatu Main Lodge

Day 16 & 17: Masahtu Game Reserve
For the last three days we will enjoy the Tuli Block region and Mashatu Game
Reserve. Mashatu is well known for having one of the world’s most famous
underground hides in the Matebole Hide. We will enjoy three full session 2 morning
and one afternoon in the hide. Our other three activities will be game drives in the
very productive Tuli Block. Our focus for the drives will be Cheetah’s Leopards and
Lions as the areas has all of the above in good numbers

Day 18: Depart for Home Destinations
After our final morning in the Matebole Hide we will begin to make our way back
to JHB international for your flight back home. At this stage I have quoted on taking
a road transfer across the border to Polokwane, South Africa where we will catch a
domestic flight back to Johannesburg International. The other option on the table is
either a direct charter flight from Masahtu to either Maun or JHB depending on the
logistics. Currently the flight are not available due to Covid but once I have clarity
we can amend the plans accordingly.
